Every shirt has a story. I started The Cultras to tell them.

I was born in the UK and I've been collecting football shirts since 1988. There are about a thousand of them now, in a room in Toronto, and I can tell you where I was for nearly every one.

The Cultras has been around in this form since 2018, though I've been in this space since around 2012. It has always been about the culture around the game: the shirts, the sponsors, the summers, the people who keep them.

I first came to Canada in 1994, right after the World Cup. That trip showed me football shirts were global, well beyond Europe. It showed me something else too: communities living side by side and not all supporting the same team. Football arrived here in suitcases. Families brought their clubs and their countries with them, and their kids and grandkids grew up with those shirts in the drawer.

In 2026 the World Cup came here, and it brought things somewhat full circle. I watched Toronto turn out for Croatia and Portugal, and this time the kids were cheering for Canada too.

Those stories are all over this country and hardly anyone is writing them down. So I am, one shirt at a time.

The Galleria and the Club Shop help pay for it. Becoming a socio is free and always will be.

Home. Away. Forever.
